Cutting-Edge Equipment

At Veranex, we understand that staying at the forefront of imaging technology is paramount to our daily practice. As we continually push the boundaries of advanced therapeutics and evaluate novel technologies in relevant large models, we rely on cutting-edge technology to support our endeavors.

Philips EPIQ Evolution 3.0: Echocardiography System

Imaging holds a central position in our work, and our commitment to remaining at the forefront of imaging technology is unwavering. The Philips EPIQ Evolution 3.0 echocardiography system stands as a cornerstone of our advanced technology platform. This system’s state-of-the-art capabilities empower us to gain crucial insights into cardiac structures and functions. By leveraging the Philips EPIQ Evolution 3.0, we ensure accurate imaging that enables comprehensive evaluations and precise decision-making in our daily practice.

CT Scan: Preoperative Planning and Anatomical Insight

Computed tomography (CT) is an indispensable tool in preoperative planning, providing critical information for surgical interventions across various medical specialties. At Veranex, we utilize CT to assess anatomical structures, identify pathology, and develop optimal procedural strategies. By visualizing the dimensions of the aortic root, pulmonary veins, and left atrium, this imaging technology plays a central role in selecting the right model for highly technical interventions like transcatheter heart valve implantations. CT’s high-resolution 3D reconstructions enhance surgical precision, improve outcomes, and align with ethical research practices. By carefully planning with CT, we select the most suitable large models to evaluate device efficacy in preclinical research.

Cardiopulmonary Bypass Equipment

In our studies with surgical devices, we perform more than 150 cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures per year.  This equipment is a key component of highly invasive surgical procedures, such as implantations of heart valves, many of which are complex. Our team of veterinary surgeons, perfusionists, and anesthesiologists is highly trained to perform CPB on any large model, which ensures the successful execution of complex surgical studies.

Philips Mobile C-arm imaging platforms

Our technical platform features the Philips Zenition and Veradius Mobile C-arm systems, providing live image guidance during interventional and surgical procedures.  During an intervention, clinicians and investigators can visualize complex structures and dense anatomy with clarity through advanced image processing algorithms from Philips.

Mobile C-arm X-ray systems are used in various applications, including cardiology, vascular, orthopedic, spine, gastroenterology and urology.  They allow visualization of small devices and vessels with great contrast and spatial resolution. They can compare imaging results for cystoscopy and endoscopy images with live fluoroscopy

Videoscope and Endoscopy Towers Systems

Our laboratory is dedicated to staying at the forefront of technology across various medical and surgical specialties, including cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, urology, GI surgery, neurology, orthopedics, dentistry, and robotics. In line with this commitment, we have acquired three complete high-end endoscopic towers from Fuji and Olympus. These state-of-the-art towers offer exceptional imaging capabilities, noise reduction features, excellent brightness, and digital output. They are designed to accommodate a wide range of endoscopes, including gastroscopes, duodenoscopes, colonoscopes, and more, with different sockets for seamless connectivity. These versatile towers can be adapted for various procedures, such as GI endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and otorhinolaryngology, making them invaluable in our preclinical platform for early R&D, GLP studies, and physician training. With our cutting-edge endoscopic tower solutions, we ensure the highest quality imaging and optimal performance for our research and training endeavors.

In addition to our endoscopic towers, we also feature videoscopic columns in our state-of-the-art laboratory. These videoscopic columns offer advanced technology, including 3CCD and full HD digital systems, ensuring high-quality imaging for enhanced visualization. With digital recording capabilities on a flash drive, we can capture and store videos of procedures with ease. Whether it’s for research, training, or documentation purposes, our videoscopic towers provide excellent video capture and recording functionality.

Faxitron MX-20: Radiography System

Non-destructive X-ray analysis of medical devices and tissue explants is often essential, requiring high-precision cabinet X-ray systems. That is why we have invested in the Faxitron MX-20 Radiography System, renowned for its precision and versatility. This system allows us to perform ex vivo X-ray imaging of explanted stents and valves with exceptional clarity and efficiency. The Faxitron MX-20 is widely used in medical, forensic, and scientific applications, enabling us to obtain on-the-spot images in seconds. With its ability to export in most formats, we can seamlessly analyze images and gain valuable insights into calcification of biologic material and the integrity of metallic devices.
