Study Co-Authored by Veranex Found that Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry (MCOT) was Associated with Lower Readmissions and Healthcare Costs in Post-Stroke Monitored Patients, Compared to Implantabl

This study compares the health and economic outcomes of using mobile cardiac outpatient telemetry (MCOT) and implantable loop recorders (ILRs) for long-term monitoring following an inpatient visit in patients who have had a stroke by analyzing Optum’s de-identified Clinformatics® Data Mart Database claims for hospital admissions between 2017 and 2020. MCOT was associated with decreased readmissions (p = 0.016), lower healthcare costs (p < 0.001) and a trend toward lower mortality in patients with stroke (p = 0.051), when compared with ILR monitoring.
